we have a pear tree next to our cottage in sedgwick, maine and every year it produces so much fruit that the branches break with the weight of all the juiciness. We have taken to thinning the fruit once they get to be about a half inch in diameter. Thinning the blossoms is not an option as they are so beautiful and provide that petal 201Csnow201D when the wind blows.
